POSITION DESCRIPTION:  The University of Colorado Denver/AnschutzMedical Campus College of Nursing is seeking a full-time faculty member (tenureeligible) with a Unitary Caring Science perspective. Rank and potential awardof tenure will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a focus on expandingknowledge development, application, and literacy in Unitary CaringScience.  The candidate’s current andfuture research focus should include explaining and articulating the phenomenaof wholeness, healing, compassion, meaning, and human-to-human connection; andthe use of innovative methods to evaluate theory and data in the engagement ofhuman caring in clinical practice and work environments.

 RESPONSIBILITIES include:
  1. Teach and mentor primarily at the graduate level;
  2. Maintain an active research agenda;
  3. Secure extramural funding;
  4. Serve on departmental and university committees;
  5. Demonstrate a commitment to collaborativeinter-professional research; and
  6. Work with stakeholders in the health, environmental,and social sectors.
    1. Collaborate with the medical campus colleges/school withappropriate inter-professional research centers.

 Salary and Benefits:

QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • An earneddoctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, social science, orrelated area;
  • A record ofscholarship and experience to qualify for the rank of Associate Professor, orProfessor in a tenure eligible position;
    • Minimumqualifications for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor include anextensive and continuing body of research published in peer-reviewed scholarlyjournals.
    • Minimumqualifications for appointment at the rank of Professor include a proven trackrecord of extramural funding, substantial scholarship in peer reviewedjournals, national recognition for program of research, and leadership inprofessional organizations.
  • Evidence offocused area of research;
  • Demonstrated abilityto effectively teach and mentor students; and
  • Demonstratedpotential for obtaining funding through grants and contracts.
 

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s inNursing from an accredited institution.
  • Collaborativeresearch record.
