The University ofColorado School of Medicine Physical Therapy Program in the Department ofPhysical Medicine and Rehabilitation is home to three educational programs: thePhysical Therapy Program, Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency Program, and PhDProgram in Rehabilitation Science. The CU Physical Therapy Program mostrecently was ranked within the Top 15 accredited physical therapy programs inthe United States by the U.S. News and World Report and is one of the first 25educational programs still in existence in the United States. Additionally, ourclinical and research partners include the Rocky Mountain Regional VeteransAffairs Medical Center, University of Colorado Hospital, Children’s HospitalColorado, Craig Hospital, and Colorado Clinical & Translational SciencesInstitute.

In addition to thewide array of health-related programs and facilities offered at the AnschutzMedical Campus, a significant number of undergraduate and graduate degreeprograms are taught at our comprehensive campus in the heart of downtownDenver. Denver is one of America’s most vibrant urban centers and the downtowncampus, located just steps from the Denver Center for Performing Arts and theLoDo District. The metropolitan area affords our students, faculty and staffaccess to a broad array of academic, professional, community, recreational andcultural outlets. The University of Colorado Denver Physical Therapy Program invitesapplications for a full-time tenure track eligible position at the level of AssistantProfessor Professor.  The applicant willconduct funded research in the area of neurologic rehabilitation. Candidatesmust have earned a non-clinical doctoral degree (PhD preferred).  Candidates are preferredwho have a physical therapy license and post doctoral experience. Candidates should have previous academicexperience. This facultyappointment will include academic responsibilities within the Physical TherapyProgram and PhD Program in Rehabilitation Science. The faculty member will alsowork closely with other investigators from the Department of Neurology,Department of Bioengineering, Eastern Colorado Geriatric Research Education andClinical Center, and other clinical partners on the Anschutz Medical Campus.The position is available beginning January 2020. Senior faculty mentorshipwill be provided to the successful applicant, and opportunities for limitedclinical practice are available for interested faculty members. 


Salary andBenefits:

The hiring salary isnegotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.  This position is not eligible for overtimecompensation.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Eligibilityfor physical therapy licensure in the state of Colorado.
  • Anacademic terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc., or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completionof a research fellowship in neuroscience, neurorehabilitation, or a relatedsubfield.
  • AmericanBoard of Physical Therapy Specialties Certification (i.e., Neurology).
  • Arecord of peer-reviewed publications in neurologic rehabilitation.
Competencies:Abilityto communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Abilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships with other physiciansand staff at all levels throughout the institution.Demonstratedcommitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
