The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Assistant II on the Gainesville campus. The Maintenance Assistant II maintains parts room, issues hand tools, machine tools, shop supplies and equipment. Monitors condition of all tools and equipment in tool room; keeps record of tool and parts issued in work order system; orders replacement and repair parts in system, assists maintenance technicians on projects as needed.

In addition to background checks for all cardholders, O.C.G.A. § 50?5?83 requires a credit check on all employees issued a purchasing card. Additionally, credit checks must be run at the time of Pcard renewal.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Assistant II will:

  • Maintain and organize parts and tool room
  • Issue parts, repair parts, tools and equipment to Facilities staff
  • Maintain tools and parts issued in work order system
  • Keep record of tools issued to and returned by Facilities staff
  • Assist maintenance technicians with projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have general knowledge of various crafts, strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • One year of general maintenance experience required.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools and parts experience preferred.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license
