POSITION SUMMARY

The Campus Pastor provides spiritual leadership for the IWU-Marion community at Indiana Wesleyan University.As a visionary leader, this individual will plan, promote, and administer spiritual and educational leadership through chapel programming and ministry initiatives.The Campus Pastor serves as a member of the IWU-Marion Cabinet, working closely with leadership to fulfill the goal of an integrated and holistic student experience.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Campus Pastor reports directly to the IWU-Marion Chancellor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Design, develop, execute, and be accountable for the highest quality of chapel programming that pursues an integrated approach to spiritual formationPreach regularly, effectively and dynamicallyProvide pastoral care to students, faculty, and staffProvide innovative curriculum development for spiritual formationProject planning, budgeting, management, and organizational leadershipProvide student and staff leadership developmentRepresent IWU in public settings for presentations as neededDevelop and administer the budget for the Campus Pastor’s OfficeServe as a member of the IWU-Marion CabinetServes on university task forces, advisory committees, and councils as neededClassroom teaching as qualifications permitPerforms other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Supervise office staff and student workers.

QUALIFICATIONS

According to Indiana Wesleyan University’s employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

    MDiv or related Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferredOrdained minister or equivalent licensure
Experience

    Pastoral experience in a higher education setting highly preferredKnowledge and experience recruiting, developing, and leading teamsDemonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Indiana Wesleyan University is the largest member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and one of the largest employers in Grant County, Indiana.
