Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Finance and Administration, the Director of Organizational Analytics & Assessment works with other Associate Deans, Program Directors, Department Chairs, University offices (including Institutional Research and Academic Planning and Assessment), the Chase Career Center, and Isenberg faculty, staff, students, alumni, and employers to foster and support data-informed decision making and continuous improvement in student success, accreditation, and the administrative functions of the Isenberg School. To this end, the Director will work with senior leadership to develop a strategic vision and plan for and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive program of data collection, interpretation, and use.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and communicate a clear data-use vision and articulate strategic priorities for the delivery of information at Isenberg.
  • Lead a small team of data analysts. Train, mentor, and supervise analysts to create and guide data visualizations and management dashboards resulting in actionable insights in support of Isenberg’s mission, strategic goals, and student outcomes.
  • Acquire and analyze relevant data from Isenberg, the University, and external sources related to students, faculty/staff, alumni and financial resources to support continuous improvement, student engagement, assurance of learning, and school rankings. Provide information with contextual intelligence for use by Isenberg leadership in decision making.
  • Develop and provide timely and consistent reporting of organizational leading indicators, metrics, key performance indicators (KPI), benchmarks, and other performance indicators through service design expertise to administrative staff and faculty for collecting, measuring, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative outcomes.
  • Conduct and oversee in-depth research, data mining and predictive analytics to inform enrollment and revenue projections, rankings performance, resource allocation, student persistence and success, space planning, and hiring decision impacts.
  • Plan and manage Isenberg’s ongoing data collection, analysis, and reporting related to critical Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) Business and Accounting accreditations and assessment of learning for its undergraduate BBA programs, MBA program, and Accounting department.
  • Develop and shape accreditation processes in collaboration with school and departmental leadership and support Isenberg’s efforts to maintain accreditation by preparing and submitting data and reports to meet accreditation requirements. Stay current on AACSB and job outcome reporting standards and guide compliance with accreditation standards for assessment.
  • In collaboration with program directors, collect, submit and analyze school rankings data to support undergraduate and graduate programs. Research and communicate rankings methodologies and outcomes to inform strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Support faculty and staff in their development of data literacy skills and in making data-informed decisions. Support data users and consumers in their efforts to respond to internal and external data requests in a way that protects the privacy of students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
  • Other Functions

    • May present at educational conferences and/or publish results in academic journals to enhance the visibility of Isenberg as a source of academic analytics innovation.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Master’s degree in a discipline requiring expertise in qualitative and quantitative research and assessment methodologies with three years of progressive experience in institutional research and assessment.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience with and specialized knowledge of educational research tools including data marts/warehouses; data preparation, manipulation, mining, and querying tools; relational databases; Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems; data visualization tools; and statistical software.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition, management, quantitative methodologies, and reporting that is insightful and accessible for diverse audiences.
  • Strong survey research skills including proficiency in online survey design, administration, and analysis.
  • Ability to act on initiative, identify opportunities and be proactive in putting forward ideas and solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leadership, work effectively and independently on multiple priorities with strict deliverable dates, and handle highly sensitive/confidential information.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Doctorate in a discipline requiring expertise in qualitative and quantitative research and assessment methodologies with progressive experience in institutional research and assessment, and as a supervisor.
  • Experience in higher education and strategic leadership in meeting the needs of academic leadership in data analysis and interpretation for educational accrediting bodies.
