Do you want to provide administrative support for cutting-edge fellowship research projects? Do you enjoy customer service? The Research Management Group serves as the institutional representative for all fellowships within the School of Medicine. Within RMG, the Fellowship Research Process Manager Associate will assist students, departments and faculty with fellowship proposals, awards, financial questions and other tasks associated with pre- and/or post-award fellowship activities and services.

Duties Include:
  • Provide guidance and assist postdoctoral fellows, department and staff using in-depth understanding of applicable federal regulations, sponsor requirements and University polices.
  • Work with the pre and postdoctoral fellows and departments to provide oversight of the proposal preparation process for a large volume and diverse set of federal and non-federal fellowship research projects.
  • Conduct a preliminary review of fellowships for consistency with proposal request; identify areas considered non-standard or unusual for the Assistant Director.
  • Review and Process all forms required by the sponsor and the university.
  • Provide direction and counsel to fellows and department administrators regarding fellowship projects, and resolve issues relating to pre and post award administration.
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Director on progress and final reports.
  • Work with University and School of Medicine central offices to assist in the resolution of post-award administration.
  • Assist with data collection and data integrity in the SeRA system.
  • Contribute to Lean process improvement through participation in team initiatives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
  • Associate degree and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
  • Basic understanding of applicable federal regulations, sponsor requirements, and University policies such as OMB A-21, OMB 1-110, Cost Accounting Standards, Food and Drug Administration and Medicare pricing and reimbursements.
  • Working knowledge of University systems such as SeRA, eProtocol, Oncore, etc.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet interpretation skills, including formulas.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet long and short-term deadlines with accuracy.
  • Able to communicate ideas and concepts clearly in both written and oral form. Demonstrated ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients and with external organizations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety, shown through communication of safety concerns and use and promotion of safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Frequently perform desk based computer tasks, seated work, use a telephone and use light/fine grasping.
  • Occasionally write by hand, lift, carry, push pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely stand, walk, sort, and file paperwork or parts.
