The Stanford University School of Medicine Continuing Medical Education (CME) program promotes continuous improvement in patient health care by providing physicians and other health care professionals with high quality, evidence-based educational activities focusing on advances in medicine, new medical technology, biomedical research, and changes in the health care environment. The overall goal of the program is to augment physician knowledge, enhance competence and performance in practice, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. The Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education is seeking a CME Compliance Coordinator (Administrative Associate 3). Reporting to the Associate Director, Education Development, the CME Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that activities assigned are in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Medical Association (AMA) accreditation criteria. This position will be primarily based at our Palo Alto location, but after a period of training may be eligible for a telecommuting or remote work arrangement.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with SCCME clients including School of Medicine entities, SHC/LPCH, other schools on campus, non-profits, foundations, and more
- Create, maintain and constantly update activity records, minutes and files in compliance with ACCME guidelines
- In collaboration with the CME Conference Coordinators, ensure that all CME activities, documentation and promotional materials comply with program objectives and guidelines set by ACCME and the AMA
- Create, manage, and track CME compliance documentation before activities go live and resolve issues as necessary.
- Assist with the implementation of activity evaluations for each program.
- Process activity evaluations and outcome measurement tools and support development of post-activity reports.
- Assist with preparation of accreditation materials
- Process requests, create participant accounts, generate and distribute certificates, transcripts and various other activity materials.
- Ensure discretion and confidentiality of personal information collected from learners, faculty members and colleagues for the use of the CME department.
- Provide on-site support for CME activities
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Working knowledge of ACCME and AMA accreditation requirements.
Experience working with online Learning Management Systems (LMS)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
High school diploma and four years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. College degree and experience strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.
Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently sitting.
Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.
