Overview

Reporting to the inaugural Director of Wintersession and Campus Engagement within the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life, the Program Coordinator for Wintersession and Campus Engagement will work to support the creation, implementation, and management of a new two-week activity period in Princeton's academic calendar to begin in January 2021. The responsibilities include program development and implementation, logistics, registration software management, research, coordinating with campus partners, communications, and University-wide coordination. The Program Coordinator will support the Director in working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students (undergraduate and graduate) across campus on both Wintersession itself and other special programming throughout the year as needed.

Responsibilities

Program Development—25%

  • Assist with researching peer institutions’ Wintersession programs
  • Assist with facilitating and analyzing data from focus groups throughout campus
  • Assist the Director in determining the programmatic objectives and direction of all aspects of Wintersession
  • Serve on Wintersession Steering Committee and build relationships with members
  • Build partnerships across campus with faculty, staff, and students (undergraduate and graduate) and support partners as they determine what sessions they want to lead
  • Help identify other programmatic opportunities (existing or new) that engage the campus community broadly, in addition to the two-week Wintersession

Program Planning, Implementation and Evaluation—50%

  • Assist with developing call-for-proposals process and help facilitate outreach activities. Recruit faculty, staff, and students to conduct programming during Wintersession that steps away from their normal University duties.
  • Assist with program evaluation
  • Support the implementation of campus engagement initiatives in addition to the two-week Wintersession (i.e. workshops throughout the year, summer programming)

Logistics and Software Management—25%

  • Lead all logistics for the two-week Wintersession (room reservations, media needs, troubleshoot cancelled sessions, etc.)
  • Assist in communication to Wintersession session leaders and attendees
  • Create and continually update online Wintersession calendar
  • Manage registration software
  • Manage the proposal submission process and class registration process
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2-3 years of related professional experience.
  • Familiarity with a University setting and student programming.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to think creatively and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to take direction, receive constructive feedback; to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment; and to tolerate ambiguity in a fluid working process.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, web-browsers, social media, email and Outlook; willingness and ability to learn new software applications for website content management and university financial and database systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree with 3-5 years of related professional experience.
  • Educational background in college student personnel, higher education administration, or other related field.
  • Experience with creative educational program development, including program planning, implementation, and assessment.
