ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

Supervises and manages all aspects of the federal Student Support Services grant project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develops, implements, and evaluates all components of the approved Student Support Services grant application.
2. Collaborates with relevant college areas to develop, implement and evaluate the Student Support Service project.
3. Evaluates progress of the Student Support Service project in meeting Annual Performance Report measures and project objectives.
4. Drafts/prepares all program forms, evaluations, reports, communications and related grant applications.
5. Recommends new hires, trains and evaluates all Student Support Services staff.
6. Manages the Student Support Services budget and recommends changes and adjustments as necessary.
7. Implements, maintains and monitors the use of the Student Support Services tracking software and database.
8. Provides general supervision of all Student Support Services staff members.
9. Meets regularly with the Student Support Services staff, Dean and other collaborative partners, providing presentations as necessary.
10. Manages and evaluates all student records, program documentation, and required paperwork as outlined in the grant application.
11. Serves on various institutional committees as assigned.
12. Implements and revises the project communication plan to inform the College community of the project purpose, objectives, eligibility requirements, and progress.
13. Develops, implements and evaluates a summer bridge program for participants.
14. Develops, implements and evaluates learning communities as outlined in the grant application.
15. Adheres to all federal, state and institutional policies, regulations, processes and procedures for the Student Support Services project.
16. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION:

Master's Degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years experience in student advisement, working with at-risk students and students from a variety of cultural/ethnic backgrounds. Experience and using retention strategies and technologies to monitor and support student success.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of and familiarity with of low income, first generation and disabled college students, student development theory and student support administration practices and procedures, college level academic advisement and career advisement principles, procedures, and techniques, grant budget and management, federal grant regulations and programmatic guidelines, and retention/student success practices.

SKILLS:

Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong student service orientation required. Ability to manage short-term and long-term projects and provide reports for grant purposes. Skill in the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of student recruitment, retention, and support programs. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports. Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Program management and administrative skills. Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
