Instructional Designer Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201909196621 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $69,000 - $119,200 Position Information The Instructional Designer 4 will serve as a practice lead in the use of instructional design models and strategies; perform as a technical specialist in the adoption of emerging educational technologies, and act as a liaison with the larger campus community, particularly in translating classroom teaching practices into student centered, active, authentic, and connected learning experiences. In this capacity, the Instructional Designer 4 will initiate and participate in cross-functional teams, to help design, develop, and facilitate high impact Academic Engagement projects, programs, and policies, that align with the UCR 2020 strategic plan goals of Academic Excellence, Access, Diversity, and Engagement. Please note: The budgeted hiring range for this position is up to $92,000. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Minimum Requirements Advanced knowledge of the technical tools and platforms required to achieve the delivery of engaging and media-rich online learning content, and of trends in the use and effectiveness of educational technology and learning.
Thorough knowledge to conduct appropriate job and task analyses in the context of instructional design of technical or specialized training.
Expert level skills in application of planning, resourcing and monitoring of effective design life cycles of training and other learning and performance solutions to support the organization.
Advanced knowledge of applying adult learning theories and education methodologies in creative ways.
Advanced understanding of business strategies and market priorities related to online learning and achievement of organizational goals.
Advanced ability to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organizational and problem-solving skills.
Advanced knowledge and skills with relevant business software systems and content creation tools.
Advanced knowledge of instructional design principles and learning strategies, including needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes and assessment design, and instructional approaches including lecture, discussion, activities, projects, etc.
Advanced analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, collaboration and negotiation skills.
Advanced knowledge of e-learning strategies including but not limited to courses (e.g., processes and technologies, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge of organization policies and procedures, including policies that impact online course development.
