Lafayette seeks a Registrar to join the leadership team of the academic division of the College.   The Registrar works collaboratively with faculty and administrative colleagues to manage all activities related to student records and registration and contributes to campus-wide decision-making about curricula.  The Registrar reports to the Provost and is a partner in the development and enforcement of curricular and course enrollment policies and procedures.

The responsibilities of the Registrar include the following key areas.

  • Steward student academic records, ensuring their accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology to use, update, or implement relevant software the supports efficient administrative processes.
  • Manage the registration processes and the scheduling of courses, classrooms, and final examinations.
  • Publish the College’s Catalog and the course schedule and the final exam schedule.
  • Oversee the degree clearance process, maintain degree audits, and issue diplomas.
  • Ensure College compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other federal, state, and accreditation agency regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor those working in the Registrar’s Office with attention to their ongoing professional development.
  • Serve ex officio on College-wide committees, including the Curriculum and Educational Policy Committee and Academic Progress.

Qualifications

A Master's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of professional-level and leadership experience in academic administration are required.  Successful candidates will also have a record that demonstrates:

  • Effective leadership and managerial skills, including experience with the direct supervision and professional development of staff;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills including the ability to effectively use and implement technology; and a
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent service to students, faculty, staff, and other constituents.
