Overview

The Business and Economics Department at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in fall 2020. Responsibilities include teaching principles of macroeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, econometrics, and the interdisciplinary Common Intellectual Experience (CIE) seminar for first-year students. In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach electives in another field of interest. The teaching load is five courses (four credit-hours each) per year, with one course release in the first year. Tenure-track faculty are also expected to establish an ongoing program of scholarship, supervise student research and honors theses, and take part in academic advising of applied economics majors and first-year students.

While seeking candidates with specializations in macroeconomics and econometrics, the department would welcome candidates with additional interests in any of the following: data analytics, income inequality, environmental economics, political economy, and international economics. Interest in interdisciplinary research and teaching is a plus, as the college has recently implemented an innovative core curriculum that encourages such endeavors.
