Description:

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Assistant Director will have responsibility for the administration of all New York State grant programs, including the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), and certain Title IV FSA programs. Other responsibilities will include the administration of institutional loan programs, monitor student awards, oversight of the University’s opportunity program as well as other processing and reporting. The Assistant Director will represent the University at both on and off campus events, requiring periodic evening and weekend hours.

Candidates must be organized and able to handle all aspects of administration and adhere to rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required. Over two years experience in financial aid, an ability to work independently, accurately, and to collaborate as appropriate. TAP Certifying experience a plus. The candidate will have strong communication skills, verbal and written, as well as strong interpersonal and administrative skills. The candidate must possess a working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheets. Strong customer service skills are a must. Familiarity with computerized financial aid systems, especially Ellucian Banner preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
