Qualifications

Required:

Masters Degree or four years of related academic technology experience with a related BA/BS degree. Or six years of related academic technology experience with a non-related BA/BS degree. Project management experience for technology enhanced learning projects or other projects Experience with using instructional technologies in an educational setting, such as course management and/or learning management systems Experience working with educators on technology-related educational initiatives

Preferred:

  • Experience as an educational technologies consultant, technology integration specialist, academic technologist, or related role in an educational setting
  • Educational background or a strong interest in liberal arts Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students with a wide range of knowledge and comfort levels with technology
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, communities, and cultures.
  • Experience using instructional design practices and methods in support of onground and online courses
  • Experience leading technology trainings and workshops for faculty, staff, and students
  • Ability and desire to collaborate with colleagues and peers across an institution
  • Excellent consultation and group facilitation skills
  • Expertise in a modern learning management system (such as Canvas, Moodle, D2L), and familiarity with the technologies of web development (such as WordPress or other content management systems)

Duties/Responsibilities:

Educational Technologies Consultations (30%)

  • Provide consultation to instructors on technology-related educational initiatives
  • Assist instructors with questions about our Canvas campus learning management system, and advocate for improvements and bug fixes
  • Explore emerging educational technologies with instructors and other LATIS staff
  • Collaborate with TEL team and partners on outreach to the college and assess or clarify needs of faculty and supporting staff Assist in the development and use of evaluation methods to determine quality of outcomes.

Lead projects and initiatives (30%)

  • Serve as project lead for teaching and learning initiatives
  • Convene and facilitate productive meetings
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure that all project tasks and deliverables meet identified timelines and quality standards
  • Collaborate with TEL team to coordinate resources to support faculty needs around instructional technology

Instructional design (25%)

  • Work with instructors on design of assignments, learning activities, modules, courses, curricula; on taking courses into new learning spaces (online, hybrid, active learning spaces); engaging students in more active and deeper learning
  • Develop and implement instructional design processes that will improve the quality of design of individual courses as well as across the college
  • Design and implement evaluation methodologies to measure the impact and effectiveness of content and strategies that are developed Integrate universal design/accessibility into course materials
  • Collaborate with and guide student workers to ensure that production work is completed effectively

Institutional Collaboration (10%)

  • Serve on committees internal and external to the College focused on academic technology
  • Cultivate partnerships with academic technology staff, initiatives, and resources within and outside the College

Personal Professional Development (5%)

  • Develop/maintain expertise within designated areas of responsibility, including educational research and trends that apply to academic technology, teaching, and learning
