Basic Function

The Mathematics, Sciences, Technologies, and Business Division (MSTB) at NOVA’s Annandale Campus has a need for a part-time instructor to teach ADJ.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a faculty member in the Virginia Community College System shall be to provide quality instruction for the students. The major emphasis shall be on good teaching by working with students in classrooms, laboratories, individual conferences, and related activities—to help the student develop their interests and abilities to their fullest capacity to become a better person, a better worker, and a better citizen. Teach courses in Administration of Justice.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field and 2 years career experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field with 18 credits in the Criminal Justice field. Career experience in law enforcement and intelligence gathering.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The candidate should have knowledge of major concepts, theories and subject matter in Administrative of Justice.

The candidate should have the skill to teach courses in Administration of Justice as well as excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills.

The candidate should have the ability to relate basic principles of ADJ to students and use instructional technology.
