Visiting Faculty, Interaction Design

The Columbus College of Art & Design invites applicants for a full-time Visiting Faculty position in Interaction Design. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing IxD curricula. The successful candidate will work closely with the Dean of the School of Design Arts and Dean of Graduate Studies and faculty from undergraduate and graduate design programs to lead in the development of Interaction Design programming and pedagogy. This position will have a reduced teaching load with course release for the new course and program development in both undergraduate and graduate studies. The ideal candidate is an innovative professional who leverages industry trends and technologies to deliver relevant classroom experiences. Candidates must be proficient in user-centered design and design innovation and have the ability to teach across programs and at all levels. The position carries the expectation for departmental and college service in addition to teaching responsibilities and curriculum development. Visiting Faculty positions are one-year appointments and can be renewed for a total of three years. With the launch of a new IxD program there is the potential for this position to be converted to a three-year contract. CCAD is looking for a dynamic and engaged person for this position with professional design experience and passion for teaching. CCAD seeks a candidate who can collaboratively engage with faculty and mentor students. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills; show initiative, dependability, empathy and reliability. In addition, the candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Position: Visiting Faculty, full-time.

Qualifications: Terminal degree in design or related field, preferably complemented by professional experience and a minimum of three years of college-level teaching experience preferred. Salary is based on rank.
