Major Responsibilities

Serve as full-time tenure track assistant professor of Kinesiology; teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Kinesiology and/or other courses assigned by the department chair; seeking to hire for teaching courses/subject areas related to exercise science and/or preparation of students for clinical professions; develop an active research agenda that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations; seek funding to support research agenda; direct graduate/undergraduate research projects provide service to the department, school, college, and university participate in professional organizations; advise students.

Functional and Supervisory RelationshipsRequired Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Kinesiology, or closely-related field. Candidates who are ABD may be considered with expected completion of doctorate one year from appointment date. Please note: Reappointment will not be considered without completed Ph.D. prior to review date.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience and evidence of University-level teaching; ability to successfully deliver undergraduate and/or graduate coursework with a specialization in exercise science, with courses that may include: Exercise Prescription, Medical Terminology, Cardiorespiratory Fitness Assessment and Programming, Clinical Pathways, Introduction to Kinesiology, Research Skills in Kinesiology, or other courses assigned within the department; practicum coordination and/or supervision; evidence of current professional or clinically-based credentials (e.g. ACSM, NSCA) ; evidence of research productivity.
