This position includes duties in the Cafe and for catering as needed. Under the direction of the Sous Chef, this position ensures consistency with food standards, portion sizes, cooking methods, quality, recipes, kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Will prepare food in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.

The program is open to all graduate and undergraduate students from any academic department for candidates have a passion for museums, art history, and contemporary art.

• Adhere to food and beverage practices in keeping with health and safety requirements, maintain recipes, portions, temperatures, and presentation maintaining consistency in guest experience.
• Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service.
• Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking.
• Perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including garnish, plate, and package for café, catering, and delivery as needed.
• Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufactured instructions.
• Ensure all storage areas are tidy and clean ensuring all products are stored in appropriate containers/covering and at appropriate temperatures.
• Restocking and closing duties.
• Assist with special events as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a current UNF student.
• Must be 18 or over.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Must be ServSafe Food Handler Certified.
• Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute required experience.
