Position Description:
As the largest department within UCLA's External Affairs division, UCLA Development has the goal to increase philanthropic support and raise funds by creating enduring relationships with prospects and donors. Organized through a highly centralized/decentralized structure, comprehensive fundraising initiatives and programs take place in the many units across campus. Efficient and collaborative prospect reporting and analysis ensure the proper portfolio composition of individuals, corporations and foundations as part of UCLA's fundraising efforts.

As part of UCLA Development's Prospect Development team, the Analytics Specialist will provide strategic information, analysis, and insight on individuals, corporations, and foundations to development officers and administrators, including the Chancellor, and various associate and assistant Vice Chancellors, in support of the University's fundraising goals and objectives. The Analytics Specialist will provide reporting and analytical support to UCLA's fundraising operations in the form of quantitative and qualitative analysis, data mining, fundraising results analysis, and prospect portfolio analysis. This individual will develop productive working relationships with staff, senior administrators and University constituents in a manner that builds confidence that the reporting process is accurate and ensures best practices are embraced and implemented. The Analytics Specialist will enrich predictive modeling capabilities and will work closely with Prospect Management liaisons to address prospect portfolio data needs of UCLA frontline fundraisers.

In the 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report, UCLA Medical Center was ranked best in the West, as well as one of the top 3 hospitals in the United States alongside Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
