The Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions is one of elevencolleges at Georgia State University and houses the School of Nursing, theDepartment of Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, andRespiratory Therapy, and the Health Informatics Program. 

The Nursing Departmentat Perimeter College is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist,Administrative who will provide administrative support for thedepartment.  The scope of responsibilities for this position include theseessential duties but is not limited to the following:


  • Provides direct supports to the Assistant Director/ Clinical Placement Coordinator, and/or Faculty with clinical placement and credentialing, requests, requirements and assignments
  • Maintain and support relationships with hospital agencies regarding credentialing requirements
  • Collect and process student paperwork and medical forms for clinical rotations electronically
  • Maintain clinical agency profile and agency paperwork information.  Updates online clinical course information with agency updates.  Communicates paperwork and agency procedures to students and faculty
  • Track student credentialing submission activities for agency paperwork requirements, immunizations, background and drug screen reports
  • Adhere to clinical agency paperwork and clinical assignment submission deadlines and send reminders to students and faculty
  • Data entry into ACEMAPP record system to ensure students are compliant for clinical rotations
  • Retrieve clinical and credentialing reports to determine numbers needed for clinical placements and clinical assignments for students
  • Creates and designs flyers and announcements about credentialing
  • Proofreads materials for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and correct English usage, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Assists with files, including archiving
  • Assists faculty with special projects
  • Serve as front line personnel for students in nursing department
  • Coordinates some of the nursing departments property control processes
  • May issue and maintain keys for the Nursing department in assigned building
  • Coordinates office moves and all storage needs
  • Maintains office supplies, equipment, and property and completes maintenance request for assigned building
  • Serves as liaison between the department and the university community
  • Drafts reports and correspondence; processes various forms
  • Enters data and information in word processing spreadsheet, and database applications by creating word processing templates and form letters, tables, queries, and reports
  • Prepares special reports and other statistical and necessary reports
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.



QualificationsMust possess one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience
  • High school diploma or GED and six years of related experience
  • A combination of education and related experience

The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.
