Candidates must have a Ph.D. by the start date, in Agricultural Education, or related discipline. The applicant should have a minimum of three-years of secondary classroom teaching experience.Job Summary
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in agricultural education; student teacher supervision; graduate courses in the Department of Community and Leadership Development; and graduate advising and recruitment of agricultural education students in a multidisciplinary graduate program. Applicant will teach courses associated with pedagogical and andragogical theory to practice.
Research responsibilities are in the area of scholarship of teaching and learning. Expectations include developing a nationally recognized research program that connects Agricultural Education to schools, communities and societies. The successful candidate is expected to establish a peer-reviewed publication record in teaching and research scholarship; secure competitive grants; recruit and advise graduate students; fulfill committee assignments supporting the mission of the department, college, and university; and provide leadership to professional societies.
Potential applicants should have an interest in collaboration and instruction that supports the linkages between agricultural education, and other subject areas in the College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment. These subject areas may include, but are not limited to: Technical Systems Management; Equine Science and Management; Public Health & Farm Safety; Community Development; Sustainable Agriculture; and Extension Education.
