Grant and Development Strategist

Position Overview The RNA Bioscience Initiative (RBI)( seeks to hire a Grant and DevelopmentStrategist. Through a $20 million dollar initiative at the University ofColorado Anschutz Medical Campus, the RBI has expanded and increased theexcitement for RNA research through hiring of new RNA faculty and a RNA bioinformaticsgroup, developing new research programs and approaches for data generation andanalysis, funding seed projects focused on RNA science, and educating traineesat all levels in RNA biology. We seek a Grant and Development Strategistto capitalize on these accomplishments and co-ordinate the development ofcompetitive PI-driven applications for large-scale funding from the NIH andother funding agencies, to lead the effort to liaise with researchers andclinicians on campus, and to work to develop strategic partnerships to securelong-term funding for our research and training mission.

 Primary and initial responsibility will be to:
  • Facilitate andcoordinate multi-PI grant submissions, including a program project grant, PREPR25, and T32 grants.
Over time, the Grant and Development Strategist is expected to:
  • Facilitatecollaborations between RBI members and clinicians
  • Interface with CUInnovations and CU Office of Advancement for purposes of fundraising andstrategic development
The ideal candidatewill have a Ph.D. and/or post-doctoral research experience in Molecular Biologyor a related field, and experience in the preparation and submission of NIHgrant applications. Exceptionalcandidates without extensive Molecular Biology experience will be considered ifthey have a demonstrated track record in grant writing or developmentactivities. The candidate must be self-motivated, organized, communicateeffectively, be a team player, and have scientific maturity.


Thisposition will report directly to the RBI directors who will provide direction.



Salary andBenefits:

The hiring salary isnegotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.  This position is not eligible for overtimecompensation.
