DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing Education, Development, and Research (EDR) provides executive level support for EDR staff’s teaching functions and programs. Serves as a UC Learning Center Administrator for nursing education and ART/BART. Communicates EDR’s policies, procedures and standard business practices to internal and external customers. Supports department function with written materials, schedules, conference rooms, catering, audiovisual equipment, and teaching equipment. Maintains educational files to ensure compliance with the CA Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). Manages nursing class registration and calendar site for the organization.

Supports submission of education information for BRN audits and for regulatory visits. Provides administrative support, including at off-site locations, for education offerings/conferences and Front Line Impact program. Reviews and processes Preceptor Incentive Program forms for tracking hours and requests for use of credits. Processes and tracks financial payments, credit card payments, checks, cash, recharges, and deposits according to UC San Diego accounting policies. Collaborates with ART/BART program coordinator for backup support with classes and UC Learning Center. Supports the maintenance of the EDR iShare site, serves as department Safety Coordinator, provides back up support for Administrative Specialist, and other special projects as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum three (3) years of high-level administrative responsibility in hospital support, professional office, or similar environment.

  • Proven knowledge of regulatory compliance pertaining to nursing education/healthcare.

  • Excellent ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong skills in database management, MS Office (Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint), and calendaring.

  • Demonstrated data entry skills (speed and accuracy); 50 wpm.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Possesses the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.

  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all functions performed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Business school or college coursework.
  • Familiarity with nursing and/or nursing education.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
