The Special Events Technology Coordinator will coordinate live events including scheduling staffing to ensure all events are covered. This position will:
-Monitor special event requests, coordinating with other staff and requester regarding all necessary logistics for successful event operation

-Coordinate additional support for events such as power from Physical Plant, Security, Site Reservation, Presentation Content, etc.
Serve as back-up to Special Events Engineer with regard to running live events on campus

-Conduct site inspection and determine best location for equipment based on client needs, equipment performance needs, power requirements, safety considerations, etc.

-Deliver and/or operate ITS-owned AV equipment. Mentor/Train Special Events Staff, students and clients

-Develop documentation including pictures on correct setup of equipment, pull sheets for common events, etc. as a resource to Special Events staff

-Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on all AV equipment

-Repair AV equipment on the spot as needed to insure classroom/live events production schedules are not interrupted

-Consult and advise on media system design which includes but is not limited to product identification, solicitation of vendors, installation and/or coordinating installation

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in an Information Technology field and one year in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in an Information Technology area. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position

•3 years or more of experience in the AV/Live Events profession
•Working knowledge of audio mixers (including digital), video capture and rendering; and event set up, operation, and strike
•Experience mixing live audio
•Experience with video capture, both for recording and live streaming
•Experience working with both PC and Apple hardware (iPads, MacBooks, etc.) and/or software
•Experience supervising and mentoring other personnel
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

•1 year or more of experience in higher education preferred
•DSP (example: Biamp) configuration experience preferred

Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position
