Position Summary:

The successful candidate for the Instructor position will teach a variety of MIS courses at either the undergraduate or graduate level depending on the candidate’s qualifications. Instructors normally teach a 4-4 course load (four courses in the fall, four courses in the spring) including some limited service, usually as program development or assessment, and/or research duties. ITOM offers courses in several formats: traditional in-person lecture, lecture-capture/hybrid (mixed online), and fully on-line. Familiarity and/or interest in all three delivery methods is necessary. More significant service commitments or research productivity may result in a negotiated reduced teaching load. In addition, instructors are expected to sustain sufficient scholarship or professional engagement activities needed to maintain AASCB faculty qualifications. Additional summer teaching may be available pending department needs and budget approval, but these assignments are not guaranteed.

Minimum Qualifications: At least 18 graduate credits in an appropriate for the field of teaching graduate program is required.

Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in the area of Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Computer Science, or an appropriate area of specialization by the time of appointment is preferred.

Commitment to publish scholarly research in quality peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences at a level necessary to maintain AACSB academic qualifications.
