This position involves the accurate and timely completion of all reports and billings required under the terms of the various contracts, grants, and agreements awarded to the University. The position is required to interpret, establish, and maintain award files and government documents pertaining to post-award administration of grants and contracts. Effective working relationships with personnel within the University as well as federal, state, local, and other non-profit agencies must be established.

Prepare and submit financial reports in a timely manner on certain restricted accounts; requires knowledge of accounting principles necessary to properly prepare the reports in accordance with sponsoring agency’s requirements. Reports must be consistently prepared and submitted in a timely manner. Charges must be adequately reviewed for timeliness and allowability.

Serve as a liaison with certain academic departments, effectively communicating contract and grant requirements as necessary, responding to department contact questions, performing a limited training function, and attaining assistance from the department contacts as needed. Requires the ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner when assisting departmental contacts with sponsored project issues.

Perform various other functions such as periodic review of accounts, processing of budget amendments and journal vouchers, handling rejected purchase and check requests, working closed/over drafted accounts, initiating journal vouchers and/or budget amendments to adjust indirect costs to current expenditures, and such other functions as necessary in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

Prepare and submit billings under the terms of the contract, grant, or agreement on certain restricted accounts; monitor the resulting accounts receivable; follow up on payments and any other resulting issues. Invoices must be accurate, timely and in accordance with the agreement’s terms and conditions. Direct contact with the agency’s financial representatives is often required.
