Join the University of Southern Maine Libraries’ team serving a three campus, regional university with three university libraries and three special collections in beautiful Southern Maine.

The University of Southern Maine Libraries invites applications for the Coordinator of Research, Instruction, and Liaison Services.

This senior level position will provide leadership and management for information and research services, information literacy programs, and the Library liaison and outreach program. USM Libraries operate in a highly collaborative Learning Commons model offering collections and services in six libraries across its three campuses. In addition to these areas of focus, the position will participate in database and collection development decisions, serve on University of Maine system-wide groups, and participate in library strategic initiatives such as the Open Educational Resources (OER) program. The position is Portland based which is consistently listed as one of the most desirable and livable small cities in the country, set on the Casco Bay and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Maine coast and nearby mountains.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association.
  • Five years of broad, successful experience in academic reference and/or equivalent library services.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in management and supervision of professional librarians.
  • A minimum of three years library research instruction/information literacy experience.
