Provide a brief statement of the position duties. Teach three (3) courses each fall and winter semester, and have the option to teach additional courses during the summer sessions. The development of new courses to enhance and build on the curriculum is encouraged. This is a campus-based position.
Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline/Degree Area: Anthropology
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Required Minimum Work Experience: Ph.D. in-hand by the time of appointment (August 2020). Demonstrated effective teaching in undergraduate Anthropology courses. Develop and teach courses in areas that compliment the needs of the Department. Provide evidence of current and future scholarly research and publications.
Knowledge, skills, abilities or attributes required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills.
Ability to work well with instructional team, including but not limited to fellow instructors.
Additional Desirable Qualifications: Research and teaching interests compliment other areas on campus, including food studies, environmental studies, medical anthropology, medicinal plants, and/or Native American Studies.
Ability to teach a course focused on Religion and Society is strongly desired.
Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis, is preferred.
Though the geographical research area is open, ideal candidates will demonstrate an ability to apply their research methods to the Great Lakes region of North America.
Demonstrate involvement in professional organizations.
