This position is a part of the electrical shop, responsible for providing all repair and maintenance service across the university campus. The incumbent performs under general supervision and requires the application of standard trade practices in providing electrical maintenance and repair as well as incidental support for carpentry and plumbing repairs.
Required QualificationsMust have experience in the practices, methods, materials, and tools of the electrical trade and a working knowledge in the practices, methods, materials, and tools of the plumbing and carpentry trades. Proven ability to perform general electrical work in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings and their electrical system and campus utility systems. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, decide on means and methods of task accomplishment on work orders, determines materials and parts required to complete tasks; orders parts from storeroom; and coordinate schedules and appointments with customers.
Required: High School Graduate or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License. Electrical experience, with experience in basic plumbing and carpentry repairs.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred:
Journeyman’s License in electrical.
Basic computer skills.

This position is subject to overtime and schedule changes and may be required to work shifts during weekends, holidays, and special events. Incumbent may be required to participate in the Facilities Management “on-call” program. This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department, will require reporting to work when the College is officially closed, and is subject to overtime.
