The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Knight Chair in Journalism and Digital Media Economics. The position responsibilities include:
•Making travel arrangements;
•Preparing pre-approval forms;
•Coordinating logistics with conference planners and staff;
•Preparing itineraries and conference folders;
•Coordinating PowerPoint presentations;
•Handling mailings.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

The successful candidate will bring the following knowledge, skills and abilities to the position:

•Demonstrated organizational and time management skills including the ability to multitask, manage competing obligations, and prioritize responsibilities and deadlines;
•Outstanding interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to handle public contact;
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences in a professional manner;
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team contributing to team efforts;
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
•Knowledge ConnectCarolina and the University’s policies and financial procedures are preferred.
