General Description / Primary Purpose

The School of Engineering at the University of North Florida (UNF) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Civil Engineering at the Assistant Professor level, commencing in 2020 with the start date of August 2020. An earned Doctorate in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in transportation engineering is required. Candidates with a professional engineering license or ability to secure one within 2 years are desired. Departmental Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated professional or research experience in transportation planning, smart city infrastructure, transportation big data analytics, resilience of transportation infrastructure systems, and CAVs (Connected & Automated Vehicle Systems). A commitment to excellence in teaching and research, as well as the development of an externally funded research program, will be expected of the successful candidate. Experience with the Department of Transportation research is a plus. Collegiality, active service and participation in governance in accordance with the vision and mission of the school, college and university are also expected
