Department/Organization: 502201 - Student Account Services

Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Job Summary: Performs advanced professional accounting activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ensures or evaluates compliance and accountability of financial programs and business operations/processes. May supervise or lead lower level professional accountants and other staff.

Additional Department Summary: This position monitors and controls the Student Account Services reconciliation process, serving as team leader for reconciliation functions.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; OR a Master's degree in Accounting or Business and 2 years of professional accounting experience; OR CPA and 2 years of professional accounting experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to make decisions based on careful analysis and thoughtful judgments. Also required are computer skills, not limited to spreadsheet applications, personal computing networks and internet software. Must have the ability to work effectively under stress and high levels of activity.

Preferred Qualifications: Prefer fund accounting experience. Prefer experience at an Institution of Higher Education with more than 10,000 students, experience with Ellucian Banner as well as customer service skills.
