Donor Engagement Officer

Primary Function:
The GCSU Foundation is looking for talented professionals to focus on fund raising initiatives.
Primary Purpose:
The Donor Engagement Officer reports to the Assoc. VP for University Advancement. Responsible for working with units on campus (in this case primarily the College of Education) to identify major gift prospects and develop solicitation strategies that are donor-centric and will maximize each individual’s support of the university.

Job duties performed for the above function:
- Manages a portfolio of 50-75 prospects and donors which are mostly at the $10,000+ level. Responsible for identifying and building relationships with major gift prospects, developing strategies for their cultivation, and soliciting gift working with the faculty, staff and volunteers as appropriate. 75%
- Assists in the staffing of volunteer groups that may be created to engage and involve donors and prospects. 5%
- Collaborates with the donor engagement coordinator to develop a strategy for the annual solicitation of prospects in his/her portfolio. 5%
- Stewards current and past donors of the unit. 5%
- Tracks and manages contacts and proposals through the Prospect/Proposal Management System. 5%
- Participates in university-wide development activities as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
