Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a sedentary position utilizing computer, mouse, keyboard, and phone for portions of the day.

Shift

Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends. Shifts are flexible. We work around your class schedule. Must be able to work 10-20 hours per week. Applicants must be registered as a full time University of Kentucky student. Must maintain full-time student status for the duration of employment.

Job Summary

The Lab Consultant assists students and faculty in the Computer Labs with Hardware and Software questions. The Consultant documents all questions in Service Now and refers questions they cannot solve to Tier 2 personnel.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

*Excellent verbal communication skills required
*Must have proficient or advanced computer and keyboarding skills
*Ability to work alone, as well as with a team is essential
*Must be a creative, independent, and dependable individual
*Strong interpersonal skills required
*Ability to effectively translate technical concepts into non-technical language

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Advanced Computer Skills preferred.
