Employee CategoryFacultyDepartmentNUT - NutritionEClass CodeFT Faculty-10 mo with benesPosition SummaryThe Department of Nutrition at Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking applicants for a tenure track or tenured faculty position to teach community nutrition and research courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain community partnerships for the program. The candidate will be an integral member of the Nutrition Department and will be required to follow those responsibilities outlined in the MSU Denver Handbook for Professional Personnel.
The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups. Metropolitan State University of Denver is an equal opportunity employer.
Duties/ResponsibilitiesTeach a minimum of 24 credit hours (or equivalent) per academic year and maintain 5 office hours per week to include advising and consultation with students. Responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate nutrition courses. Service to the university, service to the community, and scholarly activity are also required.
Required QualificationsDoctoral degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or other nutrition-related field.
Preferred Qualifications• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
• At least 2 years work experience in community nutrition.
• Previous teaching experience at the university level.
• Experience developing and teaching online and/or hybrid nutrition courses.
• High quality teaching as evidenced by student and/or peer evaluations submitted with application.
