The Department ofPediatrics, Section of Neurology has an opening for a full-time (unclassified) Assistant Professor position.

Nature of Work:

This position will provide clinical care for patients with Epilepsy as well as general neurological disorders. The position will include clinical, research, service and limited teaching. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the outpatient epilepsy clinic, the outpatient general neurology clinic, continuous EEG service and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. The position also includes membership in the CU Briargate Center, a multispecialty pediatric clinic and CU School of Medicine cost center that includes faculty from multiple departments.


Examples of Work Performed:
• Outpatient evaluation of children with Neurological Disorders.
• On-going follow-up care both in clinic and by phone, for neurology patients 
• Participation in the Integrative Epilepsy Clinic, Epilepsy Surgery Clinic and other epilepsy initiatives.  
• Participation in attending coverage of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Continuous EEG service, and outpatient and network of care EEG reading.
• Collaboration of patient care with staff neurologists as appropriate 
• Teaching clinical care concepts to NP's, PA's, Residents and RNs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Medical Degree
• Board Eligibility in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology


Preferred Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Neurology with a Special Competencein Child Neurology.
• Current DEA
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology 


Competencies:

• Willing to collaborate with the medical teamto provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families.
• Ability to diagnose and treat patients with neurological diagnoses.
• Knowledge and desire to specialize in epilepsy diagnoses and treatment.


Conditions of Employment:

• Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug testthrough Children's Hospital Colorado
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offenderbackground check
