Eastern Michigan University's Occupational Therapy program is well respected within the University and is acknowledged as a program of excellence. The program was named one of the best entry-level programs in the Midwest for 2018-2019 by HealthGrad.com. The OT faculty is composed of a committed group of educators with strong ties to the community and the OT profession. There are numerous opportunities for teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level in our integrated curriculum. Many of our courses are team-taught, offering both our faculty and students opportunities for collaborative learning experiences. We are currently in the process of a major curriculum revision, with opportunities for a new member of our faculty to shape our program. We are one of eight programs that comprise the School of Health Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Services. The College recognizes the importance of inter-professional education initiatives and research through the provision of internal awards and funding opportunities. EMU actively supports scholarly endeavors with multiple internal awards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
As a teaching university there is a strong emphasis on teaching. In addition to teaching the faculty member will be responsible for (a) advising graduate students; (b) developing and maintaining collegial relationships in the department, university and the community; (c) providing service to the department, the university, community or profession; and (d) engaging in scholarly activity.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between EMU and the EMU Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
- Certification as an occupational therapist and eligible for licensure in Michigan.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
- An earned doctorate, or a plan to complete a doctorate by the beginning of employment.
- A defined research agenda.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level.
