Provides managerial oversight for all Dissertation Committee Chairs and Dissertation Committee Members. Ensures administrative processes necessary for the efficient and effective dissertation operations are carried out in a timely manner for both the campus-based and online DBA programs.


  • Provides consistent guidance to ensure Dissertation Committees are acting in accordance with all DBA and University policies and procedures

  • Monitors student progression and ensures student scheduling is in accordance with the DBA student progression policy

  • Works with Program Director to ensure Dissertation Committee Chair and Dissertation Committee Member positions remain as consistently filled as possible throughout the students dissertation period

  • Provides training/onboarding to all new Dissertation Committee Chairs/Dissertation Committee Members

  • Oversees the success of active dissertations using collaboration, teamwork, and effective problem solving

  • Tracks all dissertations and communicates with course scheduling and faculty scheduling to ensure the correct course/faculty attachments take place in accordance with the DBA progression policy

  • Tracks all Dissertation Chair and Committee Member courses and provides data to Program Director for payroll processing

  • Reports any issues to Program Director in a timely manner which may need to be discussed with College of Business leadership

  • Holds meetings with all active chairs and Dissertation Committee Members to share best practices

  • In coordination with the Program Director, develops and maintains a system for effective faculty performance management

  • Acts as a Mentor to students regarding the program progression policy and dissertation process prior to dissertation start to ensure student retention

  • Collaborates with Program Director in development and presentation of Residency II (online only) for students in the dissertation phase of the program

  • Teaches up to 12 courses in the DBA program per calendar year

  • May be asked to perform other duties relative to the success of DBA students in the Dissertation phase of the program, their Dissertation Committee Chairs, and Dissertation Committee Members


  • Doctorate in Organizational Behavior, Leadership or a related field from an accredited institution required

  • Documentation of serving on doctoral committees (preferably Chair of the committee) within last 4 years

  • Strong research methodology background in quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods in research

  • Proficient in APA 6th edition

  • Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment; supervising student research at the graduate level

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Experience in higher education online instruction

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic communications
