Position Summary:
Academic Success Center. The Staff Assistant/Test Proctor administers and monitors the GACE, CLEP, PAN and Scantron exams, and additional computer based exams administered through the Office of Testing Services in the Academic Success Center and reports to the Coordinator of Testing Services; administers computer based testing; completes mandatory certification through the testing vendors; and follows all guidelines and test security standards set by the testing companies. This is a 19-hour non-benefited position located on the Armstrong campus.

Essential Functions

  • Sets up testing room with dividers, headphones, and pencils; logs in and loads testing software on computers; breaks down the testing room and secures equipment and materials after exam.
  • Checks in test takers, including securing personal belongings of examinees during the test.
  • Observes examinees.
  • Maintains calm and quiet testing environment.
  • Troubleshoots computer software issues and escalates testing issues to vendor.
  • Destroys used testing materials and maintains an inventory of testing materials.
  • Communicates with the Coordinator of Testing Services testing issues.
  • Provides information and assists examinees with registration.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment
