Position Summary

This is a position of significant responsibility for comprehensive financial management of restricted/grant accounts. Post award financial manager for grants administered by the College of Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Fiscal management experience of Sponsored Contracts & Grants accounting. Working knowledge of federal, state, local and private grants. Ability to handle a grant workload of over 10-15 million dollars in awards which includes, processing payroll, expense transfers, PARs, approving purchase orders, travel authorities, pcards, intra-university charges, expense reports, iLabs. Communication skills to clearly state financial matters with PIs, Lab Managers, Grad Students, Financial Staff in the College of Engineering as well as Sponsors and other financial staff on campus. A majority of this position will administer grant funds but may include other funding sources such as state, indirect cost returns and foundation funds.

Responsible for financial management of multiple, major restricted accounts (approximately 8 million dollars awarded a year). Prepare monthly, academic, salaried and hourly payroll. Initiate budget transfers, and journal entries. Approve, expense reports, purchase orders, travel authorities, iLab orders, e-tickets, pcard transactions. Administer cost-sharing and indirect cost of accounts. Review account transactions for compliance with UGA policies and procedures. Write queries to compile financial data to acquire financial information in an efficient manner. Retrieve pertinent information from Grants Portal. While a majority of the position will be grant administration, we prefer that the successful candidate also has experience handling state, indirect cost returns and foundation funds as well.
