Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Student Services, the Student Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a variety of recruitment, marketing, publications, website and communications tasks. The incumbent has an essential role in ensuring that the core communication and information services of the OISE Office of the Registrar and Student Services (ORSS) are effective, efficient and meeting the needs of OISE and its future/current students.

The incumbent takes a primary role in developing and maintaining communication resources via website, email and social, digital and print media and delivers effective digital and print resources in order to support recruitment and admissions, registration, student retention and student services functions. This role has primary responsibility for effective operation of the CRM system. Areas of responsibilities include: develop, maintain and optimize ORSS website and key future student areas of OISE’s website, support OISE’s recruitment plan, create and operationalize inquiry, prospect and applicant communications plan, prepare recruitment print and digital publications (viewbook and related materials), ensure efficient email and social media future and current student communications, coordinate in-house recruitment events and assist in student events.

Provides back-up to the Recruitment & Diverse Student Success Coordinator especially in cases of double and triple booking of recruitment events. Manages the OISE Student Ambassador program including hiring, training, scheduling and directing student workers and ensuring the program complements OISE’s recruitment and retention campaigns.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of promotional/outreach materials
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms
  • Producing promotional and outreach materials
  • Formatting and maintaining communication templates
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming


CampusEssential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years relevant experience.
  • Experience working with digital/print communications within a high-volume, deadline driven, client focused, post-secondary environment.
  • Experience with social media technologies, including blog content management, image editing, and RSVP management tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Tact, plus ability to work efficiently with a heavy workload.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Ability to work in a collegial manner with applicants, students, colleagues, staff and faculty.
  • Strong attention to detail, including solid analytical skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office Suite; excellent keyboarding skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRM database.

Assets (Nonessential):
  • Broad knowledge of OISE programs, procedures and regulations.
  • Experience mentoring students.
  • Working knowledge of Constant Contact.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a student centered approach and understanding of best practices for student experience.
