Mathematics and Computer Science – Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Computer Science beginning in August of the 2020-2021 academic year. 

Augustana College is a selective private liberal arts and sciences college of approximately 2,500 students, most of whom live on a wooded 115-acre campus.  Rock Island, Illinois, is part of the Illinois-Iowa Quad Cities along the Mississippi River, a diverse metropolitan area with 400,000 residents, located about three hours west of Chicago.

Applicants should be interested in teaching a variety of undergraduate CS courses across the department’s curriculum. The successful candidate will join a close-knit community of teacher-scholars who work

collaboratively to educate the next generation of computer scientists. Faculty development benefits include a

pre-tenure leave, professional meeting allowance, and institutional start-up grants to promote your scholarly

interests.  A PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline is required at or near the time of appointment.  Review of applications will begin November 15, 2019 and continue until the position is filled.
