The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Pathologists for three faculty positions. These positions are available as fixed term or as tenure track.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine has an annual service volume of approximately 500 bone marrow biopsies, 150 lymph node/tissue biopsies and 700 flow cytometry analyses.

The department has pathology residency and fellowship programs including surgical pathology, cytopathology and forensic pathology.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Job Duties

The candidate will be expected to participate in clinical service and call responsibilities that include hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology and transfusion medicine. Subspecialty expertise in multiple areas of clinical pathology is desired.

Participation in medical student/resident education and clinical research is expected.

Minimum Education/Experience

Candidates must have a MD, DO, MBBS, or PhD from an accredited school.

Must be board certified or board eligible in clinical pathology or combined anatomic pathology and clinical pathology.

Board certification or eligibility in one or more clinical pathology subspecialties is required.

The candidate must be eligible to obtain an active North Carolina medical license.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Must be board certified or board eligible in clinical pathology or combined anatomic pathology and clinical pathology.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Diagnostic experience or fellowship training in hematopathology.

Strong interest in general clinical pathology.

Subspecialty expertise in multiple areas of clinical pathology.
