Assistant Professor of Communication/Health Communication

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication/Health Communication-emphasis faculty position in the School of Communication and Media, which begins August 2020.

We are seeking a quantitative researcher who has a background and interest in grant writing. Kennesaw State is an R2 (high research activity) university interested in applicants with a commitment to quality teaching and a strong research agenda. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary School that values digital media and emerging technologies. We are looking for a Health Communication educator who will complement existing expertise in crisis communication, persuasion, interpersonal/intercultural communication, and media. Writing nationally competitive grants is a priority. The successful candidate’s teaching assignments may include research methods courses. Faculty in the School teach in a variety of modalities: face to face, hybrid, and online. Undergraduate and graduate teaching are available. A commitment to excellence in teaching, an active and innovative research agenda, and service to the institution are expected of all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Previous university teaching experience is preferred. Professional experience is a plus.

Required: A Ph.D. in communication, or a related field, or the foreign equivalent; a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness; a record of excellence in teaching; a record of scholarship and a promising research agenda; and a commitment to service and engagement. An ABD will be considered but the Ph.D. must be completed before the start date.
