The Department of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences welcomes applications for a full-time (12 month) non-tenure track faculty and Program Director position for the post-baccalaureate pre-medicine program (PBPM).  Appointment will be made at a rank (assistant/associate) and salary commensurate with experience. Total compensation includes a generous benefits package.

Our post-baccalaureate program is located in Ashburn, Virginia on our Virginia Science & Technology Campus. The position will be primarily based at the Ashburn campus although will also require time at the Foggy Bottom campus in Washington, DC. The PBPM program prepares students from non-science backgrounds to gain entry into graduate health professional programs. Other programs housed in the department include the Master of Science in Health Sciences (MSHS) and the joint MSHS/Master of Public Health programs for PAs.

Primary responsibilities involve oversight of all aspects of the post-baccalaureate program including recruitment and admissions, curriculum development, student assessment, and program evaluation. The Program Director will be responsible for expanding the scope of this program to enroll students seeking careers in other health professions including physicians and physician assistant. As a member of the faculty, the Program Director will also be involved in teaching activities including course instruction, student assessment, and advising and mentoring students within the department.  The faculty member is expected to engage in service activities at the department, university, community and/or professional level and participate in research and/or scholarship.
