The Sr. Data Entry Clerk inputs a variety of data into a computer-based system. This position is also responsible for data updates and maintenance of information in the applicable University system(s). The Sr. Data Entry Clerk guides lower level Data Entry Clerks. Inputs numerical or alpha-numerical data extracted from multiple data documents into the Florida’s Early Steps Data System and several Access databases and Excel spreadsheets for the program’s specific data collect. Generates audit data reports from imputed data in order to ensure qualify and accuracy of entered data. Assists staff in identifying missing data/documents of patients. Maintains tracking information on local participants.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operates standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy or facsimile machine, and calculator.
  • Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer, using data entry device, such as keyboard or optical scanner, and following format displayed on screen.
  • Performs data entry which including researching, verifying, coding, and correcting information to be entered into a database.
  • Ability to read and decipher, verify, code and accurately enter data at a fast pace.
  • Familiar with Medical Billing and collections procedures, coordinates and corrects invoices with missing or wrong information and communicates to assigned staff as needed.
  • Keys data into the proper program control format and fields.
  • Verifies entries for accuracy and completeness.
  • Sorts and files correspondence, reports, or other materials.
  • Prints daily reports and reconciles all data entries for accuracy to resolve any data/billing discrepancies and irregularities
  • Prepares all data/billing reports
  • Processes documents requiring various procedural knowledge specific to area of assignment; reviews documents for sufficiency.
  • Obtains necessary signatures and routes appropriately and follow-ups.
  • Provides assistance in performing other data/billing related duties to meet department deadlines.
  • Ability to follow up with staff and external providers on information requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Skill in data entry with minimal errors
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)
