DescriptionProcess financial aid for 20% of aid recipients including but not limited to: award federal, state, and institutional aid; verify aid applications using federal tax information; determine eligibility for Parent PLUS Loans; review and process student aid adjustments based on enrollment, changes to housing, additional loan requests, etc; review reports to ensure compliance with federal regulations such as CFLAGS, overawards, loan limit issues, etc; process summer financial aid requests; determine eligibility for private loans. Additionally, the advisor will have primary responsibility for several financial aid programs. Provide financial aid counseling to students and parents in person, over the phone, and via email. Assist student by coordinating with other TU offices especially Bursar, Registrar, and Admissions. Participate in financial aid outreach such as TU Open Houses and recruitment events, high school financial aid nights, and new student orientation. Maintain current knowledge of federal/state regulations and institutional policy. Assist advising team with creating and improving process and policies. Attend workshops and training sessions.


QualificationsBachelors degree; excellent customer service, communication, and problem solving skills; ability to work independently and adapt to changing environment; and proficient with Microsoft Office.
Preferred: One year of financial aid or higher education experience. Familiarity with Peoplesoft.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
