AdjunctFaculty - History

Adjunct Faculty Instructors inthe Social Sciences, Education and World Languages Division areresponsible for providing instruction and formatively and summativelyassessing student learning.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Adjunct Faculty prepare course syllabiand design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to addressdifferent learning styles and ensure that students successfully meet thecourse objectives and outcomes. They also incorporate learning centeredprinciples and concepts and motivate students to actively participate inall aspects of the educational experience.

Adjunct Faculty are responsible for student evaluation as well as timelyand accurate reporting such as attendance verifications, academicprogress, and final course grades. They also provide leadership inprogram promotion as well as support student success initiatives.

Waubonsee offers courses in three delivery modes, face-to-face, online, andhybrid at four campuses throughout the district – Sugar Grove, AuroraDowntown, Aurora Fox Valley, and Plano.

An Adjunct Faculty position requires a professional with excellentcommunication, presentation, and interpersonal skills as well as the abilityto effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhanceteaching and learning. Successful Adjunct Faculty employ a holisticapproach to student success, bring passion and enthusiasm tothe classroom, and are collaborative with students and colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications


Master’s degree in History preferred with an emphasis on Latin American History ormaster’s degree in related field and 18 graduate credit hours in history coursework.
