Summary
This is a three-year position supported by a grant from the Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women, to create community partnerships and develop educational and awareness programming around the prevention of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The coordinator will also provide direct support to students, including case management to coordinate care for students referred to SAFE IC for concerns around health and other issues impeding success in college.

Essential Functions
The following list of duties is meant to be representative of the work performed in this position. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical extension of position responsibilities.

  • Grant Related Duties:
    • Cooperate with grant partners and multidisciplinary grant team to design effective, on-campus programming.
    • Create and lead Community Coordinated Response Team (CCRT).
    • Determine directions for student training based on data from online education program and annual climate survey. Oversee and implement social norming practices.
    • Coordinate training and maintain training records for IC faculty and staff.
    • Contribute to the development of campus policies.
    • Work with students to create and advise a peer educator group; facilitate campus dialogue for male students regarding being allies in the conversation regarding healthy masculinity, and prevention of sexual violence.
    • Attend all required training institutes, participate in teleconferences, and assist grant Principal Investigator in ensuring compliance with all special conditions included in the grant award.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Serve as resource for students in distress, at-risk, and in crisis.
    • Serve as an active member of the SAFE IC team.
    • Assist the Associate Dean with Clery Act compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, student affairs, public health, sociology, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, or a related area
  • Intercultural competence and the ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to be self-directed in program development and management
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships, engage in creative problem solving, and extend enlightened hospitality when working with others
  • Demonstrated history of mature, professional judgment
  • Ability and willingness to travel to attend training institutes
  • Professional experience working with college students

Preferred Qualifications

  • Grant compliance experience
  • One year of experience in the field of sexual violence prevention, education, or response on a professional or volunteer basis
