The Division of Accounting, Finance, MIS, and Economics in the College of Business at Governors State University seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance beginning in August 2020.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in finance.

We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills, interest in advising non-traditional or diverse student populations, evidence or a potential of for distinguished scholarship consistent with tenure-track and AACSB expectations for Scholarly Academic faculty, and evidence or potential for substantive professional and university service.

Governors State University is the only regional, public, comprehensive university in Chicago’s south suburban area, serving approximately 7,750 students annually. Minimum Qualifications

- PhD or DBA in Finance or a related area from an AACSB accredited school. ABD will be considered if the doctoral degree is completed by position start date.
-Ability to teach introductory and advanced coursework in finance for undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Ability to write and publish in professional or academic journals.
- Interest in developing and teaching online courses
- Applicant must meet AACSB standards for scholarship as “Scholarly Academic (SA)”.

Preferred Qualifications

-PhD in Finance or closely related area
-Documented record of teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
-Experience teaching online courses.
-Professional experience or certifications.
- Knowledge of AACSB accreditation requirements.
- Teaching experience in graduate and undergraduate finance courses.
